About Sheriff Falls
Sheriff Jeremy A. Falls is a 25-year veteran of Law Enforcement, having served the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office and the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff grew up in Marshall, Va. and graduated from Fauquier High School in 1989.
In 1991, he enlisted in the U.S. Army as an Intelligence Analyst. Upon completion of his advanced training, he was assigned to USFK/J2 in Seoul, Korea. After his assignment oversees, the Sheriff was assigned to the 519th Military Intelligence Battalion (TE) (ABN), Fort Bragg, NC. During that assignment, he was deployed with his unit to Haiti in support of Operation Uphold Democracy.
Sheriff Falls graduated from the Fairfax County Criminal Justice Academy in 1996. He enjoyed a distinguished and diverse career with the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office. He held a variety of operational and administrative roles over his 20 years of service in Fairfax. His final assignment was that of the Commander of Professional Development for the Fairfax County Criminal Justice Academy.
In 2016, Sheriff Falls joined the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office as a Major. Subsequently, he was appointed Lieutenant Colonel/Chief Deputy in 2018. As Lt. Col., he was in charge of the day-to-day operation of the Sheriff’s Office. In January of 2022, he was sworn in as Sheriff.
Sheriff Falls received his Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management with a minor in Leadership from the University of Richmond. He also earned Master’s certificates from the University of Virginia and American University. The Sheriff is a graduate of the 256th session of the FBI National Academy. Currently, the Sheriff is enrolled in a Master’s of Public Administration program at George Mason University.
Sheriff Falls and his wife Crystal have two adult sons and currently live in Warrenton, Va.
